Grassports embarked on an exciting project to design and construct six new multipurpose courts, with plans for three additional courts along the eastern side in the future. Each court is crafted to accommodate basketball, netball, and tennis, providing ample space for player seating and gear storage. Given the site’s vulnerability to annual flooding, the design was engineered to withstand submersion at least once a year, addressing challenges like a high water table, low-bearing foundation, and acid sulphate soils through extensive earthworks.
Every aspect of the sports equipment was meticulously designed for user-friendliness, featuring swing-away basketball towers, roll-away tennis nets, and netball posts with convenient storage sleeves. The vibrant colors were expertly matched to the school’s palette, ensuring inclusivity with thorough checks against Grassports’ color-blind manual.
After completing Stage 1, Grassports revitalised the four existing concrete multipurpose courts that had served the school for 20 years, addressing severe cracking from flooding. The project also included resurfacing of the cricket nets, aligning cricket lanes with run-ups, and using distinct colors for triple jump take-off boards—all designed to enhance usability and promote a welcoming environment for all students.
